Vigil for slaughtered horses at Stillmans

International Animal Rights Day

In solidariy with the candlelit procession in London for International Animal Rights Day on December 9th, activists held a vigil in the town centre on Thursday night to remember all the horses StopStillmansThumbnail.jpg image by G-S-NRecordswho have been slaughtered at Stillmans Abattoir, Stapegrove, Taunton.

With a banner and boards such as “You wouldn’t send your dog to slaughter” and “Stop Stillmans” which included pictures of the undercover investigation, activists leafleted the public on the opposite side of the road who were out en mass for xmas shopping.

We recieved a lot of interest from the public with many people yet again shocked whilst showing support for the campaign, as well as more people pledging to get involved.

Despite the weather, which was extremely windy with mild rain, the demo went on for over an hour and a half whilst plenty of leaflets were distributed.
